SPEEDO HEALER
Speedo Healer V3.0

The speedometer on the CBR1000RR uses a speed sensor that registers engine rpm and what gear you are in and uses this information to calculate your speed. From the factory the speedometer error is about 6% on the high side.

This means if you’re traveling at an indicated 60 miles per hour. Your actual speed would be 56 miles per hour. That’s not the end of the world, in fact it could even be a good thing because the speedometer is telling you you’re traveling faster than you are actually going and that could save you a ticket.

The Speedo Healer is a device that allows you to re-calibrate your speedometer readout to take into account for this error thus making your speedometer more accurate.

But were the Speedo Healer really becomes useful is if you are considering a gearing change because changing the gearing of your bike will increase the speedometer error.

The Speedo Healer comes in two parts. The Speedo Healer V3 and the Honda II harness to connect it to the bike. They also have a very good website that has all the information you will need to calibrate the Speedo Healer.

To install the Speedo Healer you will need the following tools, a ratchet with a 6 inch extension, a 5mm hex Allan head socket, a 10mm Socket, a 14mm socket and a small flat head screw driver.

So let’s get to it, you will need to remove the seat, the tail fairing, tank cover and raise the gas tank for this installation. Please see the Power Commander USBIII article for those procedures if you are not sure how to remove these components.

The Honda II connector comes with two loose wire's because the harness can be used for diffrent year CBR's and the VTX models.

For the CBR1000RR insert the blue wire next to the black wire and the white wire next to the red wire as illustrated in the above photo.
Note: on the 06/07 models insert the blue wire next to the Red wire and the white wire next to the Black wire.
Note2: Some Honda II harnesses have a green wire instead of blue just treat the green wire as blue in the above instructions

Dissconect the speed sensor connector and connect it to the Honda II harness. Then re-secure the connector to the holder.

Gas Overflow

Now that the Speedo Healer is connected put the rubber skirt back on and gently lower the tank. Make sure you do not kink any hoses. Also make sure to reconnect the fuel overflow and make sure its not pinched by the gas tank. Put the gas tank bolts back in and your ready to program the Speedo Healer.
