This is more of an accessory than a modification and one that I did not rush to get done. The cost of this product is rather high considering it just a plastic cover to replace the passenger seat giving the bike a sportier look. The only real benefit is you shave about a half pound off the weight of the bike.

The Cowl comes with installation instructions that I have included below and 4 washers to adjust the height. Now I though you just take the passenger seat off and slap on the cowl. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I took me well over an hour of adjusting to get it were I was happy. One thing to check is for the cowl vibrating against the tail piece while the bike is sitting at Idle.

Once you have it all lined up you should secure the screws one at a time (so you don’t loose your alignment) with hot glue or silicone. I have read on 1000RR.net of a few riders that have lost there cowl while out on a ride.
