Corbin Pilot Seat

Corbin Seat

Corbin has been in the business of creating quality custom seats for sport bikes and cruisers for years. There mission has been to provide a much more comfortable seat than the OEM offerings and they have been quite successful at it. Also if you order your seat directly from them many color options are also available.

The Corbin Pilot seat was my very first Modification to the 1000RR. After only 2 weeks and one 400 mile ride. The order was placed and I was now seeing the chiropractor for lower back pain that flaired up because of the 400 mile day trip.

The stock seat has very little foam and you always seem to end up glued to the tank, this coupled with a rear suspension that is sprung 70 pounds over my weight made this purchase a no brainer. With the Corbin seat installed I was no longer being glued to the tank and the foam provided much better insulation from the road. The seat does have a down side though, all that foam adds a few extra pounds but in the long run it was well worth it.

Installation is a piece of cake. All you need is a ratchet, 6 inch extention and 5mm hex socket.
Grab the left rear corner of the seat and fold it back, this will reveal one 5 mm pan head screw. Remove this screw and the fold back the right side and remove the other screw.

Pull the seat out from the back and slide the Corbin seat in from the back. put the screws back in and thats it, Its that simple.
